Maria Serafine, MHA, Senior Consultant, Community Health Centers, for Avanza Healthcare Strategies, has been named a Regent Award winner by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Ms. Serafine is the recipient of the “Early Career Healthcare Executive Award.” She was nominated for her work with the ACHE Central Texas Chapter.
Ms. Serafine will receive the award on January 27 at the ACHE breakfast held during the Texas Hospital Association Annual Conference and Expo in Austin.
To earn the award, she met the following criteria:
- A member of ACHE
- Demonstration of leadership ability
- Demonstration of innovative and creative management
- Executive capability in developing his or her organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community
- Participation in local, state, or provincial hospital and health association activities
- Participation in civic/community activities and projects
- Demonstration of participation in ACHE activities and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives
Ms. Serafine’s background includes 12 years of hospital administration and senior-level leadership in community health center operations. She has significant first-hand knowledge of federally qualified health center (FQHC) operations and a practiced understanding of revenue cycle management, the Affordable Care Act and Managed Medicaid products.
Her consulting practice focuses on revenue cycle management, program development and implementation, business process improvement, cost-reduction strategies and technology rollouts. Putting these skills to work, she has developed and coordinated community collaborations to improve healthcare access for underserved populations.
