Avanza President and Chief Executive Officer Joan Dentler, MBA, will present on ASC joint ventures at ASCA 2018, the annual meeting of the national Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA).
Ms. Dentler’s session, titled “‘It’s Complicated:’ Making a Joint Venture Work,” is scheduled for 2:20pm-3:50pm on Thursday, April 12.
The session description is as follows: “Physicians and hospitals that find ways to collaborate rather than compete have a lot to gain. Learn why the current health care environment is prime for hospital–physician ASC joint ventures and leave with an understanding of the many issues that stand between a successful joint venture and a failed partnership. Discuss division of equity, control over ASC operations, board structure, leveraging the hospital’s relationships and contracts, case types and developing a collaborative culture. Examine the results of a recent survey that asked hospital executives about ASC joint ventures.”
Ms. Dentler’s presentation is identified as an “advanced session.” ASCA notes that this means ASC employees who feel they have the basics in their respective fields covered and are looking to improve their skills will find the session helpful.
ASCA 2018 takes place in Boston from April 11–14.
