Avanza’s Joan Dentler will attend the 2018 South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festival. The event is scheduled for March 9–18 in Austin, Texas. Dentler will participate in the conference’s Health Track sessions. These interactive sessions focus on “innovations that build and support the ecosystem of patients, caregivers, providers, payers, policy makers, designers, entrepreneurs and investors to improve health in the communities where we live, work, and play.”

Avanza announces the addition of our latest team member, Rick Schultz, MD as Senior Consultant, Physician Relations and Operational Design. An ABOS board-certified orthopedic surgeon, he brings 25-plus years of successful surgical and system leadership to the team. Dr. Schultz has held multiple leadership positions, including Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery, Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Medicine and multiple Medical Director positions. He has served as a teaching clinical professor at the Texas A&M Medical School for most of his career.

Avanza is excited to announce the addition of our latest team member, Bonnie Watson RN, BSN, as Senior Consultant. Bonnie has worked closely with multiple freestanding and physician-owned outpatient facilities, from groundbreaking through licensing, Medicare certification and accreditation. In addition to her work with Avanza, she will continue to work as a director of nurses for a single-specialty surgery center.
